Wild Masquerade 2006
The Wild Masquerade will be an exciting and fun-filled night to remember.
Entrance ticket (US$69) includes dinner, drinks, live music, dancing, and the chance to win valuable prizes. Guests are encouraged to wear exotic and colourful costumes and masks inspired by Asia's endangered wildlife. Among the evening’s interactive activities will be photo exhibits, films, a best costume contest, a free raffle, and a silent auction. Additionally, local celebrities will be in attendance, speaking out and performing to help to save the many species of plants and animals that are fast disappearing because of a growing demand for wildlife and wildlife products.
Many of Southeast Asia’s endemic plant and animal species are currently facing extinction due to an insatiable demand for wildlife products in the region, especially in Vietnam and China. Hanoi acts as both a major trade route and an increasingly popular location for consumption of wildlife.
Running since early 2005, the WWF/TRAFFIC awareness campaign has been extremely successful, and more activities are planned in the coming months.
At the moment, we are seeking support from international organizations and the corporate sector in Vietnam, to ensure that this event succeeds in generating the necessary funds that will allow us to continue our campaign. The Wild Masquerade requires both direct funding and in-kind donations, as items for auction, prizes for the raffle, and refreshments for guests. You can also buy tickets to attend the event – a table of ten for your most important staff or friends to enjoy a memorable night and support an important cause.
The event will be attended by many VIPs living in Hanoi, including members of the diplomatic corps, and the international and Vietnamese communities. It will also be well supported by members of the Vietnamese and international press, both print and television, providing our sponsors with unique opportunities for brand and media exposure.
Please join us in this critical mission to stop the illegal and unsustainable trade and consumption of wild plants and animals. We need your support to conserve Southeast Asia’s amazing wildlife for future generations.
Funds raised by this event will be channeled into upcoming campaign activities, namely the production and publishing costs of a print campaign designed by Saatchi Vietnam, and to secure a full-time position for the implementation of our wildlife trade hotline.
