The environmental posters’ competition winners were awarded
The environmental posters contest was conducted within the frameworks of “EU ENRTP - Increasing the resilience of forest ecosystems against climate change in the South Caucasus Countries through forest transformation” project. The competition’s purpose was to raise the environmental awareness among the young generation, develope the creative potential for nature protection, guide the social attention to environmental problems solutions, identify talanted school pupils and represent the ecological culture to youth.
During November - December, 2014 period more than 150 creative works of the schoolchildren were submitted from all regions of Azerbaijan. The works reflected ecological problems on the regional and country levels, biodiversity and forest protection, reducing the impact of climate changes and improvment of the environment. Many representatives from the Ministry of Education, Baku State University, Republican Center of Ecological Training and Experience of the Ministry of Education, WWF- Azerbaijan and National Geographic Azerbaijan, also prominant scientiests and NGOs participated in the awarding seremony.
The winners were rewarded with diplomas and prizes by WWF-Azerbaijan, National Geographic Azerbaijan and Republican Center of Ecological Training and Experience of the Ministry of Education. The best drawings of the pupils will be published in a final catalogue of the project.
