Roger W. Sant
American
Roger W. Sant is Cofounder and Chairman Emeritus of the AES Corporation. He is also Chairman of The Summit Foundation and the Summit Fund of Washington, Vice Chairman of the National Symphony Orchestra Board and a member of the Board of Regents of the Smithsonian Institution.
Career Snapshot
Prior to starting AES in 1981, he was a senior official at the US Federal Energy Administration where he served as Assistant Administrator for Energy Conservation and Environment.
He was also the Director and Founder of the Energy Productivity Center, an energy research organization affiliated with the Mellon Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.
From 1994 to 2006 he was a member of the Board of Directors of Marriott International.
Mr. Sant has a long history with WWF-US. From 1994 - 2000 he was Board Chair of WWF, National Council Chair from 2001 - 2002, Treasurer from 2008 – 2009 and from 2009-2011 he was Co-Chairman.
Mr. Sant also a member of the boards of the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and the D.C. College Access Program. He is coauthor of "Creating Abundance – America's Least Cost Energy Strategy."
Formal Education
Mr Sant received a B.S. from Brigham Young University and an M.B.A with Distinction from the Harvard School of Business.
