WWF Adria , regional organization of WWF Mediterranean Programme Office (covering Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia) is searching for the position of Finance and Administration Manager to be based in the office in Zagreb under the direct supervision of the WWF Adria Director.
The F&A Manager will take lead, with considerable level of autonomy, on the overall administrative processes of WWF operations in the Adria region (including Budgeting, Accounting, Office Management, Project Administration, Financial Reporting, Payroll Administration) and will be responsible for the direct supervision of the F&A team in the Zagreb head office (currently 1 accountant 3 project administrators, 1office assistant) and indirect supervision of F&A teams based in WWF Adria country offices in BiH, Kosovo and Serbia (3 units). This position will be also the focal point, providing guidance and technical support, to the F&A units based in WWF Adria partner organizations in  Albania, Montenegro and Slovenia.
 
Main functions will include (at minimum)

1. FINANCIAL PLANNING AND MONITORING

  • Develops and updates the WWF Adria Business Plan and overall annual budget
  • Supports the preparation and review of new Project proposals in connection to Financial and Administrative aspects.
  • Monitors and analyses budgeted costs and activities against the actual results and coordinates budget revisions

2. ACCOUNTING AND BOOK KEEPING

  • Maintains and ensures proper functioning of theaccounting system in the ADRIA Office in Croatiaand provides guidance and support to staff operation on such system; Oversees the day-to-day processing of accounting transactions
  • Supervises the monthly closing of the WWF Adria books and the reconciliation of bank accounts.
  • Ensures that the relevant Financial and Administrative Policies and Procedures are correctly implemented.

3. ADMINISTRATION AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

  • Ensures compliance of the operations with local laws and regulations and with WWF Standards and Policies
  • Supervises the WWF Adria F&A staff, including hiring, career development, performance management etc.
  • Is the focal point for the technical support to the F&A units based in WWF Adria partner organizations outside Croatia.
  • Keeps relation with the banks and ensures the compliance with local and international bank requirements and WWF policies.
  • Establishes and implements the system of internal control for the Financial and administrative operations.
  • Supervises the WWF Adria procurement processes for goods and services in compliance with the law and WWF Standards.
  • When necessary, performs on-site visits to evaluate operations of the Project Offices.
  • Holds quarterly reviews with Project Managers and Administrators to review current financial situation based on work plans.

4. FINANCIAL REPORTING

  • Responsible for the overall WWF Adria Financial Reporting processes including:
  • accounting consolidation with the Head Office Accounts
  • WWF Adria local Statutory Report, audits and taxes declarations.
  • Individual projects financial reports.
  • Directs the preparation of all audit trials (internal and external) for the ADRIA operations.
                    Working Relationships:

Internal: Is a member of the WWF Adria Senior Management Team (SMT) and Interacts regularly with the supervisors (WWF Adria Director and WWF MedPO Director of Operations), the supervised F&A team members (in Zagreb and other Adria offices) as well as with the other members of the WWF Adria SMT based in Zagreb and other Adria offices. Regularly interacts with WWF International F&A units and participates to virtual or physical meetings and workshops of the WWF Global Finance Community.
External: Interacts with a wide variety of people, including partner organizations, banks, external consultants, donors, suppliers, external payroll consultant, service and facilities providers, tax and social security offices.

                    Minimum Qualifications:
1.       Knowledge: A university degree in Accounting, Administration and Finance, Economics, Management or related field.
2.       Experience: At least four years of managerial experience in F&A department in private or non-profit sector, accounting/audit or consultant firms: Multi-project programmes and Croatian commercial and labour legislation an advantage.
3.       Skills and abilities: Excellent interpersonal, leadership and management skills; sensitiveness to work in a cross-cultural context, but with appropriate doses of firmness on decisions; dependable, reliable, and organized. Highly skilled in accounting, financial planning, budgeting, contracting and bank transactions, payroll. Advanced user of the MS Office applications (with particular regards to the Excel spreadsheets) and accounting packages. Fluency in Croatian and English. Other languages an advantage.

Type of contract:  open ended employment contract under the Croatian labour law with 6 months probation period.
