BACKGROUND:WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) is a conservation organization established in 1961, with over 5 million supporters and a global network active in more than 100 countries. Pursuant to its global mission, WWF Uganda Country Office (WWF UCO) is seeking for an experienced and talented professional for the following position.
Coordinator- Forests & Biodiversity Program (Ref No: UCO-PC2017)
To provide overall coordination, technical and strategic guidance, and supervision of the WWF UCO Forests and Biodiversity programme and ensure a diverse well-articulated portfolio of interventions jointly implemented by WWF UCO and its partners.
Job Specifications:The job holder should have: (1). Masters’ Degree in Forestry Management; Wildlife Management; Biodiversity Conservation and Ecosystem Management; Environment and Natural Resource Management; and related fields. A Ph.D in any of the above fields would be an added advantage (2) At least 15 years professional experience in Environment and Natural Resources management, preferably in Sustainable Forest Management and Biodiversity Conservation related work in Uganda. Demonstrated skills in development of strategic plans and preparation successful funding proposals. (3) Key personal competencies: must be a team player with strong interpersonal and communication stills (oral, written, negotiation and analytical skills). Must be proactive, innovative, detail-orientated, self- motivated and able to work with multi-cultural teams.
