Graduated from the University of Neuchatel in Switzerland with a post graduate degree in sociology, she also has received short term training programmes in strategic communication and strategic environmental assessment . • Since 2009 Hawa Sow is the Africa Policy Coordinator for the Global Climate Initiative, WWF International

• Prior to joining the WWF International Global NI, Hawa was Policy Programme Manager for WWF-Wamer in Dakar, a post she occuped since May 2005.

• Prior to that Hawa was based in  Kenya,  WWF-Eastern Africa Regional Programme Office, Nairobi (2001- 2005); World Scout Bureau-Africa Regional Office (1993 - 2000); URTNA-PEC (1990 - 1993). In between in 2004 Hawa spent some time at WWF-International Head Office in Gland, Switzerland on secondment supporting the Africa Madagascar Programme.

• Hawa holds a MSc in Education for Sustainability, has extensive training and experience in Environmental Law and Diplomacy as well as Negotiations and speaks 6 languages

 As WWF WAMER Technical Assistant and Program Coordinator in The Gambia, Ibrahima Mat DIA has 20 years of experience in Natural Resources Management and Planning including 11 years in marine, estuarine coastal wetlands management. His main areas of expertise are MPA management, threatened species conservation, coastal and marine resources sustainable management. Through years of experience with International Conservation NGO (IUCN, WWF), he acquired skills in participatory natural resources and threatened species Management. He was able to identify with communities new protected areas in Senegal, restored ecological processes, participated to enforce Saloum (Senegal) local communities to sustainably manage their fisheries and contributed to reduce poverty in this area through Deutch/IUCN fund project. He conducted M&E programs with WB projects as well as UNDP GEF sponsored programs. With WB/GEF/WWF project, Integrated Coastal and Marine Biodiversity (ICAM), he was able to coordinate the implementation of Marine Turtles and Cetaceans Conservation Action Plans in The Gambia as well as the design of a Biodiversity Monitoring System. He participated to national and/or international planning processes (Senegal Food Security plan, FAO mapping food vulnerability and Insecurity, Wetland advisory committee, State of Louisiana Oil spill Contingency mapping, etc.). He has a MS degree in Environmental planning and Management, in GIS, many diplômes in Agricultural studies (Ingénieur Agronome (equivalent MS), Diplôme d’Agronomie Approfondie, (Ms in Agronomie) and Diplôme d’Agronomie Générale (BSc Agronomie) Animal Pastoralism). He has a strong background in GIS, Remote Sensing, agricultural planning and applied statistics.
