The Fandriana Marolambo landscape covers approximately 200,000 hectares and consists of cultivated fields, fallows, grasslands, savannas, exotic forests (pine and eucalyptus) as well as patches of both degraded and untouched forests which form a 80,000-hectare forest corridor with a width of 5 to 20 kilometres.
High endemism
Several rare – and protected – animal and plant species, including lemurs, live in the forest corridor, with 95% of them found nowhere else on Earth.
