This year, WWF Bhutan Program, in collaboration with the National Environment Commission, Clean Bhutan, Department of Forest and Park Services, Royal Thimphu College and the Thimphu Thromde will observe the Global Earth Hour at the Clock Tower Square in Thimphu.

With the theme, "USE YOUR POWER," the Earth Hour, 2014 will focus on making individuals realise the power they have in driving positive change for a healthy environment. Thimphu city, being one of the fastest growing cities in the world, is already facing and will continue to face immense challenges in addressing urban environmental issues.

And, to adress such issues, YOU can make a difference by adopting a sustainable way of living. Around the world, close to 7000 major cities and towns are now engaged with the “Earth Hour movement” to encourage the urban population to reduce their ecological footprint and initiate real solutions to address environmental challenges.
