Luli holds a degree in management economics from Ateneo de Manila University in Manila and a master of science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in Washington DC.
Prior to joining WWF, Luli worked on regional technology and business policy for eleven years, particularly in ASEAN and APEC, as programme officer of the policy group Philippine Foundation for Global Concerns.

She volunteered with WWF-Philippines in their efforts to return prized napoleon wrasse and groupers from a captured poaching boat back to Tubbataha Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and marine protected area.

Recently married, Luli and her husband regularly volunteer for underwater cleanups, and both love surfing and scuba diving in the Coral Triangle.
