CAR has created a permanent follow-up committee to the Yaoundé Summit and has revised forest policy to favour local forest products.
The CAR government has also participated in a number of joint initiatives to protect forest eco-systems, especially with Cameroon and the Republic of Congo in creating the new tri-national Sangha Park.
This park would encompass three forests - the Dzanga-Sangha in the CAR, Lobeke in Cameroon and Nouabale-Ndoki in the Republic of Congo.
