Project steering committee
The Danube PES project, steering committee meeting.
The Project Steering Committee gathers representatives of the WWF Danube-Carpathian Programme, the United Nations Environmental Programme, the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River, national level representatives from Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Serbia.
The task of the Project Steering Committee is to evaluate the project results and to elaborate recommendations for the implementation of the project activities by project organizations and partners.
The committee meets three times during project implementation. In addition, when input from the Project Steering Committee is needed, ad-hoc meetings may be organised. Reflecting the partnership nature of the project, Project Steering Committee decisions are always achieved by consensus.
Task Manager on behalf of UNEP is Edoardo Zandri. At the first committee meeting, held in Ruse, Bulgaria in May 2010, Miss Madalina Cozma was appointed as the Project Steering Committee Chair for the entire project implementation period. The second committee meeting was held in Romania in June 2011.
