With the 1991 Alpine Convention, eight Alpine States and the European Union have committed themselves to the protection of the Alpine region. WWF supports the treaty as the most far-reaching concept to date for the sustainable development of the Alpine region.
In the Alps, the Natura 2000 and Emerald networks aim to protect important animal and plant species as well as their habitats. This is an important tool for WWF's conservation work in the Alps.
When you work with WWF to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, you give your child, and all children around the world, a chance to get to discover our earth as we know it today.
