Operating in more than 150 markets with over 20,000 employees, Tetra Pak is a world leader in the manufacturing and marketing of food processing, packaging and distribution systems.

Tetra Pak made exceptional progress toward its goal of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 10% by 2010 against a 2005 base year. In its first year, emissions fell 4% at the same time packaging material production grew 5%.

The Tetra Pak Corporate Mission reads: “We believe in responsible leadership, creating profitable growth in harmony with environmental sustainability and good Corporate Citizenship.”

In 2006, Tetra Pak factories in the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark started to use green power. Renewable Energy Certificates for 2007 and beyond were contracted for factories in the USA and France, chosen with the advice of WWF.

Tetra Pak energy use in 2006 was at a lower level than in 2002, despite a production growth of packages produced by 23%. In that year, Tetra Pak had an energy efficiency improvement of 6.6% per production unit.
