Contracting organisation : WWF Smart Fishing Initiative
Procedure: Interested parties should submit a brief proposal outlining their suitability for the assignment together with an estimated total budget, timeline and brief description of proposed methods to Robin Davies, email: email@example.com
Background: WWF seeks to understand the potential economic advantages to be gained from sustainable tropical shrimp trawl fisheries in the Coastal East Africa (CEA) region of Kenya, Tanzania, Mozambique and Madagascar to help incentivise and seek investments into related sustainability measures. The study should aim the production of at least three case studies, one for each major segment of the fleet, i.e. artisanal, semi-industrial and industrial fisheries. It should produce robust and transparent estimates of the potential profitability of selected tropical shrimp trawl fisheries that are subject to effective conservation measures, showing the total cost of recovery, and subsequent yearly costs until profitability is achieved, compared to business as usual.
