China, Russia provinces agree to first transboundary protected area to conserve Amur tigers
Jilin province of China and neighbouring Primorsky province in Russia agreed today to collaborate formally in working towards the first transboundary Amur tiger protected area amidst celebrations for the second annual Amur Tiger Cultural Festival in the northeastern Chinese city of Hunchun.
60,000 trees for critical Sumatran tiger’s habitat
A three-month old initiative by WWF in Indonesia and Germany has led to the planting of almost 60,000 new trees as part of efforts to reforest critical tiger habitat on the Indonesian island of Sumatra.
More tigers found in Nepal as Nepal-India trans-boundary efforts for tiger conservation intensify
A new survey released on the 29th of July indicates that adult tiger numbers in Chitwan National Park and its border areas in Nepal now stand at 125. A previous survey conducted in a smaller area of the Park in early 2009 found 91 tigers.
Russia tiger habitat gets a boost with protection of key tree species
