My time in Madagascar has brought home the reality of conservation work. In my first days in Antananarive, I read this book on conservation in developing countries called 'The Soul of the Rhino' by Hemanta Mishra. He said 'conservation is nothing if not for the people'. This quote would echo through my mind as I would be brought to face it again and again during my assignment.
