Context info from the company
Power Generation
In India most of the Government supplied power is derived out of fossil fuel– basically fuelled by coal. Alternative energy generation methods are only now coming into the mainstream

ITC has set up wind power generation units in two locations and has set up Green Boilers which should also progressively reduce dependence on fossil fuel fired generators .

Forest land ownership
Indian laws do not allow companies to own forest land, land for plantations for commercial use. ITC has therefore encouraged a large number of local farmers ( nearly 15,000 in number ) to form groups and have educated them regarding FSC FM principles and criteria and have got close to 22,000 hectares under FSC FM certification with ITC being the group manager.
ITC produces the following pulp and paper product categories: graphic paper, packaging, specialty paper.
