We mounted flash mob dances in SM Mall of Asia and Bonifacio High Street to engage the youth in actively supporting Earth Hour.
Over 100 eager, energized volunteers showed up to dance - for free - to the sounds of a remixed version of local band Pupil's Disconnection Notice, which has the chorus turn off the lights now!
Practicing through heat and the occasional drizzle paid off in spectacular performances.
When the first dancer started waving an Earth Hour flag - people stopped to take notice. Then, more dancers cartwheeled, tumbled and backflipped their way to the center - now we're talking!
More and more dancers began stepping in to execute lively dance routines.
By the time turn off the lights now was heard in the chorus, the full mob emerged from a sea of surprised onlookers - and a few kids started dancing with us, too!
The dances culminated in a gigantic 60 formation, signaling the 60 minutes of Earth Hour."
