・Living Asian Forest Project - The Conservation of Biodiversity in Southeast Asia
Toyota supports the Living Asian Forest Project, a series of WWF’s activities to conserve tropical forests and wildlife in Southeast Asia. The conservation areas which Toyota supports are in Borneo (Kalimantan), Sumatra in Indonesia, and the Greater Mekong region, all of which are WWF priority places.
・Sustainable Natural Rubber
This partnership recognizes that the sustainable production and use of natural rubber, which is the main resource for car tires, is required for the conservation of forest ecosystems. WWF and Toyota will promote, in cooperation with relevant industries and stakeholders, sustainability practices across the natural rubber supply chain.
The automotive industry is one of the business areas with the highest carbon footprint, contributing to global climate change. Toyota and WWF will work together towards realizing a zero carbon society. As part of this goal, Toyota has joined the Science-Based Targets Initiative aimed at helping companies combat climate change.
