WWF DCP - Romania is seeking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiasticNational Communications Officer
(full-time, based in Bucharest)
The position will be responsible for implementing national media and press work, supporting all project related communication activities and information actions on the LIFE+ Saving Danube Sturgeons project in Romania.
Your duties will include:
- Development of printing materials in Romanian: poster, factsheets, booklets for fishermen, fisheries inspectorates, wildlife trade inspectors, sturgeon breeding/caviar trading companies
- Development of film and DVD spot in Romanian
- Writing press releases, organizing press conferences and press trips in Romania
- Collection of media clippings
- Development and dissemination of TV spot in Romania
- Filling in and updating of project website in Romanian, including info package for media
- Production and installation of 4 information boards in Romania
- Support for the production of Layman’s report
- Support for After-LIFE Communication plan
- Designing solutions to communication issues connected with the project
- Advocating and promoting the project mission, vision and values
We expect from you:
- Ambition, energy and drive, with a commitment to making a difference
- A team player, committed to building a strong team and sharing success with colleagues
- Native language Romanian; fluency in English, spoken and written
- University degree in relevant academic disciplines, such as communications, media or journalism
- Relevant experience - at least 3 years in a similar position
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to collect, analyze and transmit information
- Ability to work with the press
- Computer literacy and experience with website management
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Good networking and organizational skills
- Commitment to WWF’s mission and priorities
- Experience with the issues and priorities of WWF, including e.g. environment and nature conservation, and work for an environmental organisation is an advantage but not a necessity
- Ability to work in an international environment and within a multi-cultural team
