Finland soon to have a FSC national standard
HELSINKI, Finland - The certification of Finnish forests according to a national FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) standard is likely to begin this year. The draft version of this standard has just been completed by the Finnish FSC working group.
The draft standard will now be circulated for comments and, based on the feedback, it will be further developed before being approved by the FSC board. The standard has been designed to meet the international requirements of the FSC certification system.
Efforts were also made to make it compatible with the other national FSC standards of the Nordic coniferous forest zone, especially the standards of Sweden and Estonia.
