One of the wildlife markets in Yangon was shut down

WWF-Myanmar and Forest Department engaged to tackle illegal wildlife trade in Yangon by organizing awareness raising training and poster campaigns. As the result of these efforts, the wildlife trade market in Shwe Dagon Pagoda was shut down.
Elephant products and wildlife parts are being widely sold at Shwe Dagon Pagoda and Bogyoke Market, the most popular tourist sites in Yangon. WWF-Myanmar and Forest Department engaged to tackle illegal wildlife trade in Yangon by organizing awareness raising training and poster campaigns.

As the result of these efforts, the wildlife trade market in Shwe Dagon Pagoda was shut down. Only a few shops are still selling wildlife parts in Bogyoke market and WWF-Myanmar is trying to shut down the wildlife market in Bogyoke market by collaborating with authorities.
