A group of high school students, hailing from the villages of Mahitsy, Kelilalina and Ambohimalaza, paid a visit to the WWF Madagascar office in Antananarivo on August 2. They participated in an exchange program promoted by the NGO Teach for Madagascar in order to learn about and develop leadership.
The students sat down with the office director, Nanie Ratsifandrihamanana, to discuss pressing issues in conservation as well as proposed solutions. They were particularly interested in getting other youth to be involved in conservation, emphasizing the impact of getting a large number of people to make small, earth-conscious changes to their everyday routines.
The students proved that everyone can play a role in conservation, and, in fact, everyone needs to do their part in order to save the planet. WWF wishes them the best of luck in the rest of their studies and encourages them to keep changing the world!
