The meeting which took place in Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel, Tbilisi, Georgia on October 15-16, 2005,  was organized within a framework of the WWF Caucasus PO and REC Caucasus partnership initiative which aimed at raising of awareness of the Caucasus environmental NGOs regarding the European Neighborhood Policy and other relevant processes, identification of the opportunities for their involvement in development and implementation of EU Neighborhood Policy Action Plans for Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia (in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development) and building a regional NGO platform for involvement of civil society in formulation and implementation of ENP process in the Region.

The meeting participants discussed two documents developed by REC Caucasus and WWF Caucasus: recommendations for inclusion into Action Plans for Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia and the Regional Vision for NP Implementation in South Caucasus. The recommendations were based mainly on regional priorities. They could also serve in future as a basis for development of national recommendations for South Caucasus countries. The Regional Vision contained information, main goals and objectives of the cooperation effortand outlined commitment of NGOs active in the Caucasus region for building regional NGO Platform in the South Caucasus for involvement of civil society in formulation and implementation of European Neighborhood Policy (ENP) Process. The two documents have been adopted with minor changes. All participants agreed on importance of the meeting and its outcomes.

As a result of the meeting, which aimed to develop new models of regional cooperation and networking among stakeholders within the framework of ENP, participants agreed to finalize and to submit joint NGOs Regional Vision on ENP to respective Countries Governments and EU by the end of October, 2005.

Environmental NGOs also took commitment to cooperate in further development and implementation of ENP process in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development.
