Univanich Palm Oil PCL recently announced its first sale of Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO)—a 1,000 tonnes consignment that will be exported to the European market.

This is seen as a significant development for the 160 members of the Univanich PlaiPraya Community Enterprise Group, that were recently recognized as the world’s first independent smallholders to be RSPO certified through group certification. The third largest palm oil producer in the world after Indonesia and Malaysia, Thailand’s oil palm industry is comprised of more than 80% of smallholders.

Univanich PlaiPraya Community Enterprise Group was a beneficiary of the recently launched RSPO Smallholders Support Fund (RSSF) which aims to provide financial support for smallholder oil palm growers around the world that seek RSPO certification.
