Invitation to PAS 2021 Session

Posted on 19 February 2013  |
WWF-UK invites you to attend a session on PAS 2021 – Exercising due diligence in establishing the legal origin of timber and timber products – Guide to Regulation (EU) No995/2010, kindly hosted by Lend Lease at 20 Triton Street, Regent's Place, London, NW1 3BF on Wednesday 6 March 2013, starting at 10am.

WWF’s GFTN programme supports and facilitates greater coordination of national and regional efforts to expand legal, responsible and credibly certified forest trade. PAS 2021 is designed to bridge a gap for guidance to help UK businesses of all sizes and sectors identify, understand and meet their obligations under the European Union Timber Regulation, which comes into effect on 3 March 2013. GFTN-UK received considerable input in the development of this guide from many organizations that recognize that the business community plays a vital role in ensuring the natural resources on which we depend are well-managed for the present and the future, and that we successfully exclude illegal timber from the European market.

At this session, GFTN-UK will introduce you further to PAS 2021, explore what makes a good due diligence system, and hear from Lend Lease about their experience in pursuing due diligence for timber.

Spaces are limited, so please secure a place as soon as possible by contacting Vanessa Penn, vpenn@wwf.org.uk or 01483 412579.
