China for a Global Shift Newsletter - July 2012

This edition comes just few days before the 5th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The event, in Beijing on 18-20 July, presents a key opportunity for China and African countries to make sound environmental commitments, and this newsletter includes a feature story presenting Gabon as a case-study.

In June, representatives from around the globe met at Rio+20 to set the world on a sustainable path, but the outcomes will not take us to the future we want. An opinion editorial by WWF International Director General, Jim Leape, shows where action is happening instead to meet the need of "living within one planet" as outlined in WWF's Living Planet Report 2012.
