The paper provides a short overview of historical relations between China and Tanzania, briefly highlighting key aid, trade and investment features. It also presents views of Chinese investments by representatives of governments, civil society and the private sector in Tanzania, as well as existing evidence of the impact (positive and negative) of Chinese aid and investment on the Tanzanian economy, environment and people’s livelihoods.
