RUSSIA (Sakha Republic) - Protection for 70 million hectares of Sakha Republic

Seventy million hectares of the republic's territory will be under special protection by the year 2000, helping to secure the world's largest surviving tract of unbroken forest, and populations of 80,000 Moose, 45,000 Bighorn Sheep, and 250,000 Wild Deer.
